A collaboration with Polytron Corporation to evolve the Polytron brand, marking 10 years since the company’s inception. A revised, simplified logo was designed by Phil Fish (Creative Director + CEO of Polytron) and an accompanying custom word mark was designed by Arkotype followed by the subsequent application of the new brand in the form of a standards manual.
The goal was to refine rather than redefine; The word mark has been designed to compliment the geometry and symmetry of the Polytron P, whilst retaining the ‘Swiss’ characteristics of the Helvetica which was paired with the original V1 brand. Letter forms have been drawn with symmetry which echo the logo, whilst letter spacing has been refactored for better legibility at a smaller scale.
Neue Haas Grotesk was chosen as an accompanying brand typeface, and a simple grid based ruleset has been defined for the brand to be applied across various platforms and media types.
